WINNIPEG, MB: Simply Radiant Aesthetics has partnered with Original Story to create a new brand film sharing the story of founder Marlene Ross, from the childhood experiences that inspired her to become a nurse to the philosophy that now guides her Winnipeg medical aesthetics clinic.
Ross says she knew from a young age that she wanted to become a nurse. Her older brother had hemophilia and spent significant time in hospital, giving Ross an early opportunity to see the difference compassionate nursing care could make. She noticed that when her brother felt cared for and comfortable with his nurses, his hospital stays became noticeably easier.
That experience eventually led Ross into nursing. After working in acute care and later palliative care, however, she began looking for a new way to help people.
“It can take a lot out of you,” Ross says of palliative care in the film. “That’s what made this transition so beautiful for me, because working here, it’s such a happy environment, it’s such a lighthearted environment.”
Ross opened Simply Radiant in 2018, combining her nursing background with her longstanding interest in skincare and aesthetics. The new Original Story film explores how those experiences continue to influence the way she approaches clients, treatments, and the relationships she builds through the clinic.
“When there are physical changes, then there are emotional changes, and I think that’s why we get people coming back again and again, because they do feel better, they feel more confident,” says Ross.
That philosophy also shapes how Ross recommends treatments. Rather than encouraging clients to pursue services they do not need, she emphasizes finding options that can realistically achieve the results they are looking for and building trust over time.
“It’s not about me making a profit, anything like that,” Ross says. “It’s about helping you and getting you the result that you want.”
